For those worried about a repetition of last year's Hogmanay debacle where gale force winds caused the organisers to cancel the Hogmanay celebrations at the last minute, the weather outlook for tonight's bash is relatively encouraging.
You will need tickets for many of the Edinburgh Hogmanay events, such as the the Hogmanay street party and concert in the Gardens on the 31st.
For those awake, here's some events - all of which happen to revolve around the big, blustery expanse of Holyrood Park - to blow out the cob webs on New Year's Day.

This is a copy of the Press Statement from the City of Edinburgh Council following the cancellation of Edinburgh's Hogmanay
All three of the athletics events are scheduled to go ahead. No news of cancellations as of yet due to the weather.
Good luck to all the contestants.
